Apologies this much delayed update. I have been absent for a month now due to unforeseen immigration issues. While these have not been completely sorted, the initial debacle is fading, allowing me to return to VeniVidiVictuals.
In the month since, much has changed. London is in the midst of a heatwave (perhaps drawing attention to the importance our eating habits have on climate change) and the hungry gap is over. June was a bumper crop for asparagus and strawberries and runner beans have been well on their way.
July begins with hot and sultry weather and I will do my best to discuss recipes and ingredients that compliment the meteorological conditions before us. That being said, happy belated Midsummer and may the coming months bring bountiful crops to fill picnics and other alfresco affairs.
